Placement Model

Step 1

We receive referrals from local authorities for individuals in need of support.

Step 2

We conduct a thorough assessment of the referred individual's risks and preferences. This information is then carefully matched with the profiles of young people already in our home.

Step 3

If we determine the young person is a good fit for our program, we submit a response to the local authority. Upon their review and satisfaction with our response and supporting documents, we finalize the placement and welcome the young person into our care.

    Frequently asked questions

Who does Go Ahead Homes support?

Go Ahead Homes provides supported accommodation for young people aged 16 and over, including 16–17-year-olds preparing for adulthood and young adults aged 18+ who require support as they develop greater independence.

Support is individually tailored according to each young person’s assessed needs, strengths and goals.

Is Go Ahead Homes registered with Ofsted?

Yes. Go Ahead Homes is an Ofsted-registered supported accommodation provider for eligible young people aged 16 and 17.

Our 18+ supported accommodation operates separately for young adults who require ongoing support as they progress towards independent living.

    Where do you provide accommodation?

We operate supported accommodation across a number of London boroughs, providing a range of homes to meet different placement needs.

Our placements team can provide details of current locations, vacancies and the suitability of individual homes upon request.

What support do young people receive?

Support is tailored to the individual and may include budgeting, cooking, shopping, maintaining their accommodation, attending appointments, education and employment, health and wellbeing, building positive routines and developing independent living skills.

Young people also receive planned keywork based on their individual support plan.

Do you work with local authorities?

Yes. We work in partnership with local authorities, social workers and other professionals throughout the referral, placement and review process.

We recognise the importance of timely communication, accurate reporting and collaborative working in achieving positive outcomes for young people.

How do you support young people to become independent?

We encourage young people to take increasing responsibility for everyday life while having appropriate support available to them.

This can include learning to budget, cook, shop independently, maintain their accommodation, attend appointments, use public transport, access community services and make informed decisions about their future.

The aim is to help each young person develop the confidence and practical skills required for their next stage of independence.

    How are referrals made?

Referrals are accepted from local authorities and relevant professionals.

Once a referral is received, our placements team completes an initial assessment and matching process. Where necessary, further information is requested from the referring authority before a placement is offered.
