WHY VOLUNTEER WITH GO AHEAD HOMES
Everything we do is about giving more young people a safe and a happy environment they can thrive in. Go Ahead Homes has 13 well-furnished homes, with modern facilities. 16+(9) homes and 18+(4). We have over 152 young people that have transitioned into independence since the inception of the organisation in 2018.
During the course of volunteering with us, you will help the young people to navigate around challenges and build resilience whilst you gain experience too. You will also meet and connect with like-minded individuals dedicated in making a difference. We will give you an introduction and relevant training, and you will always have platform to raise issues and concerns. All we need is your willingness and enthusiasm to get involved.
WHAT CAN YOU DO?
Mentoring: Offer guidance and support through one-on-one sessions. You can guide them, listen to them, and introduce them to new activities to help them.
Creative Arts: Organise art, music, or drama workshops to encourage self-expression
Sports Activities: Plan team sports or fitness classes to promote physical health and teamwork.
Cooking Classes: Teach essential cooking skills to help young people prepare healthy meals.
Life Skills Workshop: Facilitate sessions on budgeting, job searching, and interview skills.
Outdoor Adventures: Lead hiking, camping, or other outdoor activities to promote wellness and teamwork
Game Night: Organise board games or video games for fun and social interaction.
Community Service Projects: Engage in volunteer opportunities together to foster a sense of responsibility and community.
WHO CAN VOLUNTEER?
Volunteering is open to everyone from all backgrounds,
and you need to be over 20 years of age.
